It looks like Hue Jackson won't be going to the Arizona Cardinals after all.

Following reports that Jackson could be headed to the join the Cardinals' coaching staff as an offensive coordinator, Arizona has now apparently decided not to hire one, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

That means new head coach Kliff Kingsbury will be calling the plays and will probably get some assistance from his coaching staff, particularly from new passing game coordinator Tom Clements, whom Arizona hired on Saturday.

Hopefully, the Cardinals know what they are doing, because they were easily the worst offensive team in the NFL last season, ranking last in the league in yards per game (241.6) and points per game (14.1).

To put into perspective how bad Arizona's offense was in 2018, the next worst team yardage wise was the Miami Dolphins, who averaged 289.9 yards per game.

Of course, the Cardinals are hoping for some improvement out of quarterback Josh Rosen, who will be entering his second season next year.

Arizona won just three games this past season and ended up firing first-year head coach Steve Wilks as a result.

The Cards have missed the playoffs three years in a row, last qualifying during the 2015-16 campaign when they made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game before losing to the Carolina Panthers.

The Cardinals have made the postseason just four times since 1999 and five times since 1983, making a surprising Super Bowl appearance during the 2008-09 season.

The good news for Arizona is that it owns the No. 1 overall pick in the draft this spring.
