The Arizona Cardinals have recently been facing quite a bit of criticism for their new style of offense under new head coach Kliff Kingsbury, and the criticism came to a head after rookie quarterback Kyler Murray's shaky outing against the Oakland Raiders in their last preseason game.

As for Murray? He says all of the chatter is kind of annoying:

“It gets frustrating when there might not be anything open and we go out there and look how we looked last week and people are talking about you,” said Murray, according to Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic. “But you’ve got to understand it’s preseason and we’re running like literally six or seven plays. There’s nothing to be too negative about because we know what’s really going on.”

Murray has a point. No team is going to pull everything out of its toolbox in the preseason, and Cardinals passing-game coordinator Tom Clements confirmed as much:

“[W]e know what we’re doing as far as what our approach is for the preseason games,” said Clements. “What we’re trying to tell the players is we’re going to execute plays that they know so they can show and give their best on those plays. They don’t have to worry about it. They recognize we’re not game-planning and we’re just trying to get better and treat it more like a practice game.”

Murray added that we'll see a “couple of new wrinkles” from Arizona's offense during the club's third exhibition contest against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday afternoon.

But, obviously, we won't really be able to judge the Cardinals' offense until they take the field for Week 1 of the regular season against the Detroit Lions in a couple of weeks.
