It has been a busy day in the NFL, as teams continue to make moves ahead of free agency. The Arizona Cardinals got in on the action by releasing linebacker Josh Bynes, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com.

While Bynes wasn't one of the biggest names who got cut on Tuesday, it's a significant move nonetheless. Barnes entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He signed with the Baltimore Ravens, and bounced up and down between the practice squad and the active roster his rookie season.

He became a significant contributor and started some games in the 2012 and 2013 seasons, but was cut the following year. He latched on with the Detroit Lions and spent the next three seasons as an off-and-on starter with the team. The Cardinals picked him up in 2017, and he spent the last two seasons in the desert.

In March of last year, he signed a three-year, $5.57 million contract, but made it just one year into that pact. He was the Cardinals' starting middle linebacker most of last season before he got hurt with a month left in the year.

It's another move that signals change: New Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury is intent on bringing in his own guys. There are many more moves to come as Kingsbury and the Arizona front office rebuild the roster.

Bynes will now enter what is looking like a crowded inside linebacker market. He should be able to find a new home somewhere, but will likely struggle to get any guaranteed money. For his career, Bynes has 319 tackles, 22 passes defended, and 20 tackles for loss.
