The Arizona Cardinals have gotten off to a bit of a slow start this season, especially on the offensive side of the football. Sam Bradford began the season as the starting quarterback and had an incredibly rough time of it. Since then, rookie Josh Rosen has taken over the job and has done an excellent job getting the team back on track.

According to a new report from Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, the Cardinals have agreed to sign veteran wide receiver Kendall Wright to strengthen the wide receiving corps.

Wide receiver Kendall Wright agreed to a one-year deal with the team. Cornerback Deatrick Nichols was waived in a corresponding move.

Wright has been a quality role player throughout his six NFL seasons. He has played with the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears thus far, making the Cardinals his third team.

Last season with the Bears, Wright was the leading wide receiver on a very inconsistent offense. He caught 59 passes for 614 yards and a touchdown. Arizona is hoping to get similar numbers out of Wright, although more touchdowns would obviously be ideal.

Arizona is trying to give Rosen as many weapons as they can. In the three games that he played for the Cardinals as a rookie, Rosen has completed just 49.2 percent of his passes for 386 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions. He has started in two of those three appearances.

Rosen is the future under center for the Cardinals. Signing Wright is not going to be a major boost, but it will give Rosen another quick option across the middle of the field. Wright is a quality slot receiver, although he can make an impact in other ways as well.

Expect to see Wright get on the field in the near future. He isn't likely to earn a starting job, but he should get a decent amount of playing time throughout the remainder of the season.
