The Arizona Cardinals might have drafted Kyler Murray first overall, but Brett Hundley doesn't want you to forget about him. The Cardinals also signed Hundley in NFL free agency, and the former Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks quarterback isn't going to go down quietly.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Hundley made it clear that he's still gunning for the starting job in Arizona. While he said he's going to compete every day to be on top of the depth chart, he also emphasized that he's going to teach Murray everything he can.

“The knowledge that I have, I'm able to pass it along to (Murray), especially through this journey of his because the NFL isn't a sprint. It's a long distance marathon,” Hundley said. “For me, my goal has always been to start, no matter what position it's in. I don't play to be second. So I think that's my number one goal, to get that starting job and at the same time, it's a competition for a reason.”

While it's nice to hear Hundley is still a competitor, he doesn't really have much of a chance. The Cardinals didn't trade away Josh Rosen just so they could draft Murray and not play him. Murray is almost certainly going to be under center in Week 1, and ideally, Hundley won't be taking any snaps in 2019.

The UCLA product also heaped some praise on Murray, calling him an “unbelievable guy” and a “very good young man.” It's good to see they're getting along, and hopefully, Hundley has some useful advice.

Hundley was hyped up as a potential future starter during his time backing up Aaron Rodgers, but he face-planted when he got his opportunity. He played poorly when a 2017 collarbone injury to Rodgers caused him to start, and he was traded to Seattle last year.
