Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson had a major scare when he had to leave the game on Sunday in the first quarter with a wrist injury. The good news for Johnson and the Cardinals is the injury isn't considered serious and he was able to return to the game.

After the game, Johnson said he was nervous about the wrist injury because in 2017 he missed 15 games with a dislocated wrist. After a little while, the pain started to go down, and Johnson was relieved because he knew he was going to be okay.

“I was a little nervous, but once I calmed down, I realized it wasn’t bad,” Johnson said, via Kyle Odegard of the team website.

After returning to the game Johnson didn't have a ton of success rushing seven times for 14 yards a touchdown. The Cardinals offense has been okay the first two games, but one place they have really struggled is to get their running backs involved.

Coach Kliff Kingsbury relates that to the team falling behind early but says going forward he wants to get Johnson more involved.

“The first two weeks we’ve been down, so we’ve thrown it,” coach Kliff Kingsbury said. “We’d like to get him going more in the run game.”

Johnson is still one of the best running backs and going forward this team needs to have a balanced attack if they want the offense to be successful. Going forward look for Kingsbury to really try to force-feed the ball to Johnson.
