DeAndre Hopkins has been having a great season for the Arizona Cardinals, and the prized wide receiver is on pace to break a franchise record in terms of most recorded receptions in a single season.

According to Seth Cox of Revenge of the Birds, Hopkins' current form has him passing Cardinals legend Larry Fitzgerald for most catches in a season for Arizona:

On his current pace, Hopkins will finish with 116 receptions, 1,422 yards and six touchdowns on the season.

That would give Hopkins the record for catches in a season as Larry Fitzgerald holds the top two slots with 109 receptions in 2015 and 2017.

This isn't surprising considering how Hopkins has been one of the reasons why the Cardinals have been having an impressive campaign thus far. The 28-year-old was in top form yet again this past Sunday, as he helped Arizona to a 26-7 victory over the New York Giants in Week 14. The three-time All-Pro WR caught 9-of-11 targets for 136 yards in what was another memorable outing.

It is worth noting that Hopkins' current pace of 1,422 yards would rank fifth all-time in team history. While the all-time record of 1,598 yards set by David Boston back in 2001 may be beyond Hopkins at this point, he could still break into the top four, with Fitzgerald currently at that spot with 1,431 yards.

The Cardinals get the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15, and this matchup should present itself as another opportunity for Hopkins to move closer to the franchise record. It will also give Arizona a good chance to move a step closer to a playoff berth. The Cardinals currently hold a 7-6 record, which is good for the seventh and final playoff spot in the NFC. There are several teams hot on their trail, so every win matters.
