Although the blockbuster trade was agreed upon nearly a month ago, the Arizona Cardinals had to wait for a physical to be done until the trade could be official and former Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins could join their team.

Per James Palmer of the NFL Network, that physical has now been completed and with Hopkins passing the physical, the trade is now officially complete.

Safety precautions and facility shutdowns over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic prevented Hopkins and both teams involved from getting the physical done, as Hopkins has essentially been quarantined in Houston for the past few weeks.

As for the trade itself, Arizona sent former All-Pro running back David Johnson, a 2020 second-round pick (40th overall) and a 2021 fourth-round pick to the Texans in exchange for Hopkins and a 2020 fourth-round pick (131st overall).

The trade happened just two days before the NFL free agency period began and made headlines across the league as Hopkins has been one of the best receivers in all of football over the last few seasons.

Although he failed to live up to his monster 2018 season, Hopkins still dominated in 2019, grabbing 104 passes for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns while being named to an All-Pro team for the third-consecutive season.

Hopkins gives Arizona and young franchise quarterback Kyler Murray a much-needed threat in the passing game and should help transform the Kliff Kingsbury-led offense into one of the best in the league next season.

For Houston, they will receive Johnson, who, after an All-Pro 2016 season, has struggled to stay healthy and put up similar numbers in recent years.
