Former NFL wideout and analyst Greg Jennings recently offered up some heavy praise for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray by comparing him to NFL legend Michael Vick. Unfortunately, the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft was unable to justify any sign of that notion after struggling mightily against the Oakland Raiders in Week 2 of the preseason.

Murray looked every bit the rookie in Arizona's 33-2 loss to the Raiders. Jennings said during an appearance on UNDISPUTED that his abysmal second outing is nothing to be worried about.

“I'm not concerned at all [with Kyler's performance]. He's not rattled. … Let's understand what this young man is inheriting. He understands it's going to be a process. Kyler is going to make the Arizona Cardinals better.”

It is safe to say that Jennings has put all his chips in on Murray being a successful quarterback. After all, it is not every day where a comparison to a player of Vick's caliber is brought up. Regardless, there is some truth to his comments since the preseason has hardly ever been an indicator of long-term success.

Murray had shown plenty of promise in the preseason opener versus the Los Angeles Chargers, however, it was followed up by a forgettable outing against the Raiders. The rookie completed just 3-of-8 passes for 12 yards despite playing well into the second quarter. His struggles with penalties and staying out of his own end zone made him look even more flustered.

He will have a chance to bounce back next Saturday against the Minnesota Vikings.
