Running back James Conner has found a new home over the offseason when he signed a one-year deal worth $1.75 million with the Arizona Cardinals. So far, Conner is clearly enjoying playing for the Cardinals, suggesting that he wants to be with the team beyond his current deal.

Via Bob McManaman of the AZ Central:

“Man, I want to win a Super Bowl here,” he said. “I love the weather and everything this team has going and my teammates out here and the coaching staff. I don’t see why not, why I wouldn’t want to be here. We have all the resources and everything we need to be successful.

And the Cardinals should also want him back. Conner has done more than enough to at least warrant consideration for a new deal with the team with how fantastic he's played so far this season. In fact, Conner is leading the Cardinals in rushing yards (555) and rushing touchdowns (12). Of course, his numbers benefited from the absence of Chase Edmonds, who is currently on the injured reserve with an ankle injury. But even before Edmonds went down, Conner was already finding the end zone at a consistent rate.

With Conner in the backfield, the Cardinals have become the top-scoring team in the NFL in terms of rushing touchdowns per game. They are going to need the former Pittsburgh Panther to sustain his form down the stretch of the regular season.
