The Arizona Cardinals are expected to have touchdown-machine and running back James Conner on the field Saturday night against the Indianapolis Colts at home, via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Cardinals’ RB James Conner, who didn’t practice this week due to a heel injury and is listed as questionable for tonight, is expected to play vs. the Colts, per source.

The Cardinals need all hands on deck in this crucial showdown against the Colts, as Arizona is in the middle of a neck-and-neck race with the Los Angeles Rams for the top spot in the NFC West division. The Cardinals had a significant lead atop the NFC West a couple of weeks ago, but their consecutive losses to the Rams and the Detroit Lions in Weeks 14 and 15, respectively, and a three-game undefeated streak by Los Angeles have resulted in a tie between LA and Arizona for the best record in the division.

Conner played in the Lions game, but he was only able to carry the rock eight times for 39 yards to go with 31 receiving yards on two catches. He was not also able to find the end zone, with perhaps the heel injury bothering him in that contest.

Nevertheless, Conner remains an integral part of the Cardinals' offense, even with Chase Edmonds back in the fold. Conner is second in the NFL — behind Colts running back Jonathan Taylor — for the most rushing touchdowns this season with 14. He also has two receiving scores, thus far this year.
