Is JJ Watt hinting of a comeback to the Arizona Cardinals late in the 2021 season? If recent indications are to be believed, that looks to be the case.

Watt has been sidelined since Week 8 after sustaining a shoulder injury the previous week. It was deemed to be season-ending, especially since he also sustained a torn labrum, bicep and rotator cuff aside from dislocating his shoulder.

However, on Wednesday, Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury noted that it's a possibility that Watt returns late in the campaign and possibly join them in time for the playoffs. For what it's worth, the star defensive end was reportedly spotted working out and doing some conditioning training with a trainer during practice.

“You can't count him out. He's a machine, and he's been working like crazy. I'm never up here when he's not up here doing some sort of rehab. And today, he was out there on the field running. So, you never know with him,” Kingsbury said on the team's website, hinting of a potential Watt comeback.

Pouring fuel to the comeback talks, Watt went to Twitter after practice and posted a quote suggesting he is trying to do something impossible.

“Only those who attempt the absurd can achieve the impossible,” the Cardinals star wrote, referencing an Albert Einstein quote.

Of course several fans saw it as Watt saying he's going to try the improbable and play this season if his health allows. It's not the first time that JJ Watt would make an miraculous comeback from injury, but it is certainly great news for the Cardinals as they try to improve their Super Bowl chances.

Having Watt in their arsenal makes them an even formidable team on both ends of the field. Arizona is 9-2 on the season, the best record in the NFL, and with how things are trending, it's expected to stay that way until the end of the campaign.

It remains to be seen how things will progress in Watt's recovery, but hopes are high he'll be back sooner rather than later and make his presence felt again in the whole of Arizona.
