The bulk of the attention around the Arizona Cardinals has been on the quarterback position with the competition between Sam Bradford and rookie Josh Rosen for the starting job.

The early indications appear to suggest that Bradford will get the first crack at the starting job to begin the 2018 campaign, especially after he inked a one-year, $20 million deal earlier this offseason. With that in mind, Rosen has voiced some huge praise toward Bradford stating that the former 2010 first overall pick is an overlooked quarterback in the league, according to Jose Romero of ESPN.

“I think people forget how good he is,” Rosen said. “He's just unbelievably quick and decisive with everything that he does. The ball just doesn't touch the ground. It's his first year in this offense, too, and it seems like it's been his fourth. I'm very fortunate that that is the standard that I get to see coming into the NFL.

“He's a really good quarterback, and I think a lot of people are sleeping on him.”

Bradford has shown throughout his career that he can be a capable starting quarterback, but it simply has been his inability to stay healthy. Since suffering a pair of torn ACLs with the then-St. Louis Rams, his career has been continuously affected by nagging injuries that have forced him to miss significant playing time.

This was the case this past season with the Minnesota Vikings as he had a chance to showcase that he was the long-term starter that began with an impressive season opener performance where he completed 27 of 32 passes for 346 yards with three touchdowns to no interceptions while holding a 143.0 passer rating. Following that game, he missed almost the rest of the year with knee issues related to his previous ACL tears.

That said, the 2018 season with the Cardinals could be his opportunity to showcase that he can be the long-term solution under center for the franchise or another team. It's all on his shoulders to take advantage of the situation that lies in front of him in Arizona.
