Veteran NFL offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum is now officially a member of the Arizona Cardinals after signing a one-year free-agent contract with the NFC West franchise earlier this offseason. After a lengthy stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers to begin his professional playing career, Beachum has since bounced around the league in an attempt to find the right team for him.

Suiting up for both the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets following his time in Pittsburgh, the Cardinals newcomer in Beachum now believes that the desert is the perfect place for him.

“It was a situation and a circumstance where I know a number of people in the organization,” Beachum recently said, via Sports Illustrated. “The offensive line coach, Sean Kugler, was my offensive line coach when I got drafted in Pittsburgh. The running backs coach, [James] Saxon, was the running backs coach that was there my last two years in Pittsburgh. [Right tackle] Marcus Gilbert is another player from the Steelers that I played with when I was there in my four years in Pittsburgh, so I knew it had a number of people I knew in the organization.”

Of course, Beachum is one of a few new additions to the Cardinals as Arizona bolstered its roster in a big way throughout this offseason. Most notably, the Cardinals acquired All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins via trade from the Houston Texans while also selecting former Clemson Tigers defensive standout Isaiah Simmons in the early portion of the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
