The Arizona Cardinals and Kliff Kingsbury didn't exactly shock the world when they selected University of Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray with the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft on Thursday night.

It has been known for a couple of months that the Cardinals had their sights on Murray, one of the most dynamic athletes to come out of college in recent years.

New Arizona head coach Kliff Kingsbury raved about Murray after taking him, saying he is beyond a unique player:

“He’s a dynamic talent, a unique talent that I don’t know if anyone has seen,” Kingsbury said, according to Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official team website.

While the jury is still out on whether or not Murray will actually be a successful NFL quarterback, one cannot deny his unbelievable athletic ability.

A multi-sport athlete, Murray was also chosen by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the MLB Draft last June, but, obviously, he is leaning toward playing football.

Murray is coming off of a junior campaign in which he threw for 4,361 yards, 42 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 69 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 199.2.

In addition, the 21-year-old rushed for 1,001 yards and 12 scores on the year.

Murray actually began his collegiate tenure at Texas A&M University in 2015, spending one year with the Aggies before transferring to Oklahoma. Due to NCAA transfer rules, Murray was forced to sit out the 2016 campaign, but in 2017, he spent the season learning under Baker Mayfield, who is now the quarterback of the Cleveland Browns.
