Kyler Murray and members of the Arizona Cardinals had previously planned on holding workouts in Texas this offseason. Despite the league advising against it, Murray and other Cardinals players went through with the workouts.

The Cardinals' second-year quarterback was clear in stating where he was and what he was doing in his Instagram post on Monday.

Throughout the offseason, plenty of teams such as the Cardinals have had players conduct private workouts amid the coronavirus pandemic. But in the past two weeks, there have been players to test positive for COVID-19 that were present at private workouts. Therefore, the NFL informed players that they should avoid holding these workouts moving forward.

However, Murray — similar to Tom Brady and Russell Wilson — prioritized getting some on-field work with his Cardinals teammates. Given the unusual circumstances of the offseason, it was the first time that Murray got to throw with his new wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins.

The Cardinals acquired Hopkins in a shocking trade with the Houston Texans earlier this offseason.

Besides Murray and Hopkins, most of the running backs and wide receivers for the Cardinals were present for the workouts in Texas. With training camps next month, Murray is focused on getting acclimated to the members of the offense.

Seeing that players continue to go against the NFLPA's suggestion, NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith sent a strong message to players on the Cardinals and other teams who continue to take part in workouts. The NFLPA continues to seek the best options for players in the upcoming season, but certain players are making it more difficult to negotiate terms. After having a gripe with Brady and others, the NFLPA likely isn't fond of Murray's private workouts either.
