With former No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray preparing to enter his second NFL campaign, it is safe to say the Arizona Cardinals have spent the offseason improving in order to surround the former Heisman Trophy winner with additional talent. However, Murray understands that he must do his part as well as the up-and-coming signal caller has already vowed to help out his offensive line a bit more in 2020-21.

“Last year, a lot of those sacks I feel were on me,” Murray recently told reporters during a video conference, via USA TODAY Sports.

Although there are certainly a few things that Murray can do to improve as he continues his Cardinals tenure, the soon-to-be second-year quarterback did live up to the hype in his first go-round of professional football en route to becoming the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2019-20.

“I don’t think I’ll be putting those guys in that situation too many times anymore,” Murray added about the Cardinals, via USA TODAY Sports. “If it happens, it happens, but I think we’ll be a lot better just from experience.”

Unfortunately for Murray and company, the Cardinals will be forced to play in the super competitive NFC West in 2020.

With the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams all currently serving as potential playoff teams with the month of July looming large, the Cardinals will need to bring it if Arizona is going to turn things around come next season.
