Rookies receiving praise from veterans after one season is something that means the highest appreciation. Especially when the one providing the praise is from a Hall of Fame-caliber player. And that's what Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray got from Larry Fitzgerald.

As the veteran receiver returns for his 17th season, he cited Murray as a reason for him coming back to the Cardinals in an interview with the Golf Channel (h/t ProFootballTalk).

“He’s a stud. He’s going to be a special player for years to come,” Fitzgerald said. “Playing receiver with him makes it easy.

Seeing Fitzgerald mention the team's young nucleus and the praise he puts on everyone in the Cardinals' organization is very gratifying for Murray.

It’s big,” the Cardinals quarterback told Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic. “It’s surreal at the same time because that’s Larry Fitzgerald. He’s one of the best to ever play the game so for me, that’s obviously a big deal. I’m glad he’s back. I’m glad he has that faith in me.

I saw his tweet talking about that young nucleus we’ve got. That was cool. I’m just glad he’s back because he means a lot. He meant a lot to me, a lot to the organization (Cardinals) and the fans. He’s got a lot left in him. He’s a big brother to a lot of us. If he was not on the team, it would feel a little weird.”

Murray is already coming off of a season in which he became the sixth quarterback and the second rookie to produce 3,500 passing yards and 500 rushing yards in the same season. He'll look to build off of that for the Cardinals.
