Welcome to the Air Raid offense, where a rookie quarterback breaks pass completion records. On Sunday, Arizona Cardinals rookie shot-caller Kyler Murray became the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era with 20 or more pass completions in each of his first six NFL games, per NFL Research.

Playing in Kliff Kingsbury's Air Raid offense, Murray's record should come as no surprise. The Cardinals are a pass-heavy team. Nonetheless, it's impressive. Murray still has to hit the throws. Playing behind the Cardinals offensive line doesn't make that easy, but he has done it.

Entering Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons — which sits at Arizona up 34-27 at the time of writing (5:12) — Murray had attempted to pass 201 times, completing it 126 times, suitable for a 62.7% completion rate. While doing so, he had 1,324 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions. In addition, he has run for 206 yards and two touchdowns on 28 attempts.

At the time of writing, Murray has gone 27 for 37 (73%) for 340 yards and three touchdowns to no interceptions, good for a 128.2 passer rating. He also has seven rushes for 30 yards.

The Cardinals' pass-heavy scheme should mean Murray will have more opportunities to break records down the line. Though the No. 1 pick and Heisman Trophy winner got off to a slow start in 2019, he has picked it up as of late and is showing why he was thought of so highly coming out of Oklahoma.

If the Cardinals can string together some wins, Murray will start getting the recognition he hasn't got but may deserve. Nonetheless, a record is nice too.
