Kyler Murray, JJ Watt and the Arizona Cardinals started off the season on fire, but ended it with a whimper.

The Cardinals were utterly dismantled by a Los Angeles Rams side that seemed to outplay them in just about every aspect on Monday night. Kyler Murray has been the head of the snake for this team during their early success, but was so just the same as they struggled to put up a fight against the Rams.

“It’s disappointing that we didn’t make it a game and come out and play the football we know we’re capable of playing, that’s really the most disappointing part,” Kyler Murray said. “Losing is one thing, but when you don’t even make it competitive, it’s another thing. . . . I put a lot on my shoulders, put a lot on myself and to dream of this moment and then be in the playoffs, the first game of the playoffs and then to play the way I did, to play the way we did, it’s, like I said, disappointing.”

Murray finished with 137 yards on 19-for-34 passing with zero touchdowns and two interceptions as the Cardinals were held scoreless throughout the entire first half and could never recover.

“It was a massive failure, from what we were capable of doing, to what we showed we can do, to today,” said JJ Watt. “There is no other way to describe it.”

The Cardinals came into the postseason as losers of four of their last five regular season contests. The trend unfortunately continued during their Wild Card clash, sending them packing much earlier than fans expected after they started the season 7-0.
