The 2019 NFL season got off to an underwhelming start for the Arizona Cardinals after their tie with the Detroit Lions. Fortunately, quarterback Kyler Murray is still excited about what they were able to accomplish.

Things got off to a slow start for the Cardinals on both sides of the ball. Murray is happy with how his team was able to bounce back, via Twitter.

Murray's excitement is certainly understandable. His career debut had gotten off to an abysmal start after completing just 9-of-25 passes for 100 yards and an interception.

The rookie was finally able to find his footing and kicked things up a notch in the fourth quarter. He managed to piece together quite a comeback to help the Cardinals erase an 18-point deficit to force overtime. He ultimately ended things on a high note by throwing for 308 yards and two touchdowns on 29-for-54 passing.

Although it was hardly an ideal start to the game for Murray, the fact that he was able to make the necessary adjustments in-game is a positive sign of what is to come. Furthermore, head coach Kliff Kingsbury took responsibility for his playcalling throughout the game. Kingsbury seems to understand that the onus will be on him to put the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft in the right positions to succeed.

While their comeback attempt may have fallen somewhat short, the Cardinals are hoping to build on the momentum they generated in the fourth quarter. They will certainly have their work cut out in Week 2 against a Baltimore Ravens team that put up 59 points on the Miami Dolphins.
