Many have compared incoming Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray to Seattle Seahawks signal-caller Russell Wilson as a result of his small stature and leadership abilities.

Apparently, Cardinals offensive lineman J.R. Sweezy, who previously spent five years blocking for Wilson in Seattle, sees a whole lot of similarities between the two players.

“I see hundreds of similarities,” Sweezy said, according to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com. “I always say, we got to see this guy really play. I think he's going to be just fine. But just to even be compared to Russell Wilson is a huge compliment.”

Murray is coming off of a junior season at Oklahoma in which he threw for 4,361 yards, 42 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while completing 69 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 199.2. He also rushed for 1,001 yards and 12 scores.

“He's going to back it up,” said Sweezy of the comparisons. “I just love that he's getting compared to him already and everything. He's going to be great.”

If Murray can become like Wilson, that means the Cardinals will be getting one of the best quarterbacks in football, as Wilson is a five-time Pro Bowler and a Super Bowl champion.

Arizona won just three games this past season, finishing with the worst record in the NFL. The Cardinals then landed the No. 1 overall pick in the draft as a result and opted to take Murray. They then proceeded to trade fellow quarterback Josh Rosen, whom Arizona took 10th overall last year, in order to make room for Murray.
