Head coach Kliff Kingsbury of the Arizona Cardinals is optimistic that prized quarterback Kyler Murray will be back on the field to work with his teammates soon – especially with newly acquired receiver DeAndre Hopkins now in the mix. that may be as soon as this week, as per their head coach.

“I am waiting to hear how that is going to happen,” said Kingsbury in a Zoom press call on Monday (h/t azcardinals.com). “I think the NFL has been smart giving us a couple weeks at a time. So that's where we are at.”

Kingsbury, along with the entire league, has been waiting for developments from the league in terms of protocols and guidelines on how training camp and other Cardinals interactions can be safely done amid the coronavirus pandemic.

For now, the NFL has been carefully sending out league regulations in terms of how health and safety can be prioritized as the Cardinals and other teams begin their own training camps. Teams have spent almost the entire break individually isolated and quarantined which, according to Kingsbury, is starting to take its toll.

“We're running out of ideas without actually taking it to the field and actually executing it,” Kingsbury said. “You can only cover so many things without actually practicing it. We've about reached that point.”

Although the whole ‘work-from-home' set-up have been quite smooth for the Cardinals, Kingsbury and the rest of his coaching staff is itching to finally take the field and prepare for the up coming NFL regular season which is set to begin next month.
