Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald addressed his state of mind after a recent bout with COVID-19.

Fitzgerald was activated from the Cardinals' reserve/COVID-19 list earlier this week after testing positive for the virus on Nov. 26. The future Hall of Famer sat out Weeks 12 and 13 as he recovered — the first two games he's missed since 2014.

The wideout revealed he lost nine pounds and still does not have his sense of smell or taste back.

“There were a couple days I didn't feel great,” he said, via NFL.com.

The Cardinals receiver said that while the sickness didn't force him to re-evaluate his football future, it did have him thinking about his personal health. Fitzgerald admitted to changing his will after contracting the virus.

“It was more the immediate future like staying alive and things of that nature. Football, and how long I'll play football, didn't really cross my mind,” he said.

On Monday, head coach Kliff Kingsbury spoke about Fitzgerald's impact, on and off-the-field.

“He’s a tremendous leader and presence for us obviously. You know he brings a level of confidence because of what he has accomplished and what he can do on the field.”

Despite missing two games, the 18-year veteran is second on the team in receptions (43) and receiving yards (336) this season.

The Cardinals (6-6) lost both games without Fitzgerald, and have dropped three straight overall.

Arizona will face the suddenly-formidable New York Giants (5-7) at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday (1 p.m. ET).
