The Arizona Cardinals notably stayed put in the 2019 NFL Draft, selecting former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick. With Murray now joining future Hall of Fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, he has already caught the attention of the veteran pass catcher.

Larry Fitzgerald went as far as to say that Kyler Murray can become a special player in the professional ranks.

“You get the sense that he is a special talent, but obviously there is a lot of work that needs to go into it, you know a lot of skill development, learning the offense and things of that nature for him to continue to ascend,” Fitzgerald recently said, via AZCentral.com.

“For all intents and purposes, he looks phenomenal and you know as a teammate we’re going to welcome him with open arms and do everything we can to try to help him speed up the learning process as much as possible.”

Of course, the Cardinals were able to select Kyler Murray with the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft after encountering quite a disappointing season in 2018. However, the NFC West franchise is now attempting to turn things around in a hurry. The Cardinals have already begun building a young roster under the direction of first-year NFL head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Thankfully for both Murray and Kingsbury, Larry Fitzgerald will also be around for the 2019 campaign to lead the young Cardinals.

This will not be an easy season in Glendale, Arizona. The Cardinals are part of a stacked NFC West led by the defending NFC champion Los Angeles Rams. The Seattle Seahawks made the playoffs last season, and the San Francisco 49ers could possess a playoff-caliber roster if quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo can play a full season or something very close to it.

Kyler Murray and Larry Fitzgerald will have their work cut out for them, but maybe they can make some magic.
