Larry Fitzgerald could retire tomorrow and go to Canton, Ohio the next and receive a gold jacket. However, before Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, the Arizona Cardinals wide receiver hadn't caught a 40-yard pass in the regular season since 2015, according to Kent Somers of AZCentral Sports.

It should be noted that Fitzgerald caught a 40+ yard pass in the playoffs in that span.

Fitzgerald finally put an end to that drought in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. In the fourth quarter and overtime, Fitzgerald caught two 40+ yard passes, one a 41-yarder, the other a 45-yarder. Each catch played a massive role in the Cardinals' catching up to the Lions to eventually tie in the game for Kyler Murray's NFL debut.

Fitzgerald finished the game with eight receptions for 113 yards and a score. A quick reminder: he's 36 years old, proving that some people (Fitzgerald, Tom Brady, Drew Brees) aren't too aware of a man called Father Time. After the game, his teammates could only pay respect.

“His bones don’t get old,” wide receiver Trent Sherfield said, via the Cardinals official website. “He’s drinking some special milk. I need some of that special milk when I get to be his age.”

“I’m glad he’s on my team and I don’t have to play him anymore,” outside linebacker Terrell Suggs said.

“The man’s still got it,” quarterback Kyler Murray said.

It's fair to say that Fitzgerald still has it, even if he didn't catch a 40-yard regular-season pass since 2015. With his career coming to an end, advice friends and family to soak up a few more games of Larry Legend in Arizona.
