The Arizona Cardinals are gotten off to a rough start out of the gate to the 2018 season after dropping their first two games of the season in disappointing fashion.

Despite dealing with some nagging hamstring issues, star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is expected to take the field on Sunday afternoon against the Chicago Bears, according to Darren Urban of Azcardinals.com.

Fitzgerald has been limited over the last few days as he was also not able to participate in practice on Wednesday, which had brought some concern about his status for the season opener. However, the fact that head coach Steve Wilks has come out to state that the 35-year-old will play should erase any doubt about his ability to play against the Bears. Fitzgerald has proven throughout his career that he is a highly durable player as he has missed just six games in his career with his last coming in the 2014 season.

In his 15th year in the league, he has continued to play at a high level as he has 10 catches for 104 receiving yards through the first two games played. This issues with his hamstring may have arisen due to him sitting out the entire preseason, which didn't allow for his body to get used to the physical contact that comes with playing the game of football especially prior to the start of the regular season. There is still an adjustment period that he needs to get through given that he is in the back end of his career.

These few days off from practice could help his body recuperate from the injury, which will be telling later in the week when his final designation for the contest is given by the team. If he's able to play, the Cardinals will continue to rely on him as the top receiving threat in the passing game.
