Despite the presence of veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, the Arizona Cardinals are not expected to compete at a very high level in 2019. However, Fitzgerald will have the chance to mentor soon-to-be rookie quarterback Kyler Murray, who was recently selected by the Cardinals at No. 1 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma.

It is safe to say that even though the aforementioned tandem has only spent limited time together thus far, Fitzgerald is already quite impressed with what he has seen from Murray — and that might be an understatement.

“I've never seen a quarterback come in so quickly and be able to command an offense,” Fitzgerald notably told former NFL quarterback and current analyst Kurt Warner on Inside Training Camp Live on Sunday, via NFL.com. “I mean, from Day 1, he's out there checking the different plays, sliding the line, different protections, getting us in screens when blitzes are coming. His understanding of the offense is crazy.”

Of course, the Cardinals will be forced to compete with the surging Los Angeles Rams in the always dangerous NFC West division. With the Rams notably winning the NFC last season en route to reaching the Super Bowl before being defeated by the New England Patriots, both the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers are expected to serve as legitimate threats to Los Angeles in 2019, leaving the lowly Cardinals in the cellar of the divisional standings.

Nonetheless, Murray will surely receive the opportunity to impress on the world's biggest stage early on.
