Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald did not exactly endear himself to Cardinals fans this week, as he did not select State Farm Stadium as his favorite field in the NFL.

Instead, he chose the backyard of a division rival: CenturyLink Field, where the Seattle Seahawks play.

“The noise and the venue, it’s hands down the best venue in football in my opinion,” Fitzgerald said on Thursday, according to Bob McManaman of The Arizona Republic. “The atmosphere is unbelievable. It always has so much energy and passion. They have a great fan base and it makes for an exciting game to play. I’m looking forward to it. It will be great fun up there.”

Ouch.

Of course, Fitzgerald can't possibly make Cardinals fans dislike him, but hearing your legendary wide out say that he prefers the stadium of a team you despise can't be great to hear.

That being said, Fitzgerald has a point.

The Seahawks have long been known for having the “12th man” at CenturyLink Field, making it one of the most difficult places to play in the NFL.

Many feel this could be Fitzgerald's last season, so it's entirely possible that this upcoming road game against Seattle could be the final game of his career, but the 35-year-old is not saying he is calling it quits just yet.

“I’ve dedicated my life to it,” he said. “I started playing tackle football at 6 years old on an 8-year-old team and this time of the year, this is all I’ve done. You dedicated your life to something, you put in so much time and effort, yeah. I wouldn’t say I need it, but I really enjoy it. To be able to get out of bed every day, nobody has to set an alarm clock for me. When my feet hit the ground, I know it’s time to go work. I’m excited about it and I understand this is something I’ve always wanted to do, so it’s a blessing.”

The Cardinals are just 3-12 on the season.
