The Arizona Cardinals this offseason have questions under center with their competition between Sam Bradford and rookie Josh Rosen ahead of the 2018 season.

There is the presumption that Bradford will get the first crack at being the starter this upcoming campaign despite Rosen strong showing so far in the offseason workouts. According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, this is a notion that Pro Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson also echoed about the quarterback situation.

That left Peterson with some thoughts about how things will play out on offense this season. Peterson said he “definitely” thinks Bradford will be the starter as long as Bradford is healthy, but it doesn’t sound like he thinks Arizona will be in dire straits should Bradford add a line to his long list of injury absences.

“Josh blew my mind my first week with him,” Peterson said on Sirius XM NFL Radio. “Just to see him run hurry up offense, to see him make all these different checks, to see him put guys in position. I was completely stunned when I saw it.”

This is likely the preferred route for the Cardinals to give Bradford the first shot given that the team did ink him to a one-year, $20 million in free agency to be the first replacement for Carson Palmer. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that he is securely into the starting job if he struggles or experiences any injuries problems.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals have remained quite high on Rosen to be the long-term future of the franchise under center that was made clear after the team moved up to the 10th overall pick in this year's draft. The fact that he has already begun to impress his teammates this early on in training camp could see him make a strong run at the starting job this upcoming season.

This is still a fluid situation, but it appears that Bradford has the upper hand at the moment ahead of the start of training camp.
