After being selected No. 5 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft, Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson has since been widely known across the league as one of the elite players at his position. Some may say that he's even the best cornerback in the entire NFL. Peterson himself wants to be remembered as one of the best to ever play the cornerback position.

According to a recent article written this weekend by Joel Erickson of The Advocate, Peterson opened up about his extensive résumé with the Cardinals, his future in the NFL and a potential career in broadcasting after he is done playing.

“Obviously, the accolades and things I’ve received over the years speaks for itself, but at the end of the day, what keeps me going is continuing to build that résumé,” Peterson said. “I want to be remembered as one of the best to ever do it.”

This week in Minneapolis for Super Bowl LII, Peterson worked as a reporter with AT&T's Audience Sports and interviewed people in attendance of NFL parties on the NFL's red carpet.

“Just having the opportunity to kind of get my feet wet and see what I want to do after football,” Peterson said. “I thought it was a no-brainer to really see if being a broadcaster or getting into the media field is something I want to do.”

As for how much longer he would like to play in the NFL, the seven-time Pro Bowl cornerback says he can't really put a finger on something like that right now.

“I don’t think about it,” Peterson said. “At the end of the day, my body is my temple, and it’s going to tell me when I’ve had enough. I’m really not a guy that says, ‘Oh, I want to play 12 years,' because now I’m limiting myself. I just want to do it as long as possible and as best as I can.”

At only 27-years old, Peterson has been named a First-Team All-Pro three times and has plenty more to accomplish before he decides to hang up his cleats.
