Kyler Murray is a fast learner.

While many around the football world wonder what exactly the Arizona Cardinals' offense will look like under new coach Kliff Kingsbury and the dynamic Murray, the good news is that the rookie quarterback already knows it better than anyone else.

Larry Fitzgerald said as much last week and both Kingsbury and Murray basically confirmed it on Tuesday as the team opened its three-day mandatory mini-camp in Tempe.

“He knows the system better than we do,” Fitzgerald said, per Mike Jurecki of Arizona's official site.

Added Kingsbury: “I think there’s probably some truth to that, having played in a similar system for all those years,” Kingsbury said of Murray. “Christian Kirk has a good feel for it as well, I’d say. Some of the terminology and concepts are really similar to what they’ve both done before.”

Of course, one could argue Murray entered the offseason with a bit of an edge over his new teammates.

The arrival of Kliff Kingsbury as head coach meant all the Cardinals' offensive players were effectively starting at the ground level. And Murray's fit with Kingsbury's style was one of the selling points behind selecting him first overall.

But that shouldn't take anything away from Fitzgerald's comments.

Murray knows there are bound to be some growing pains. But he’s confident he can step in right away and turn the franchise around after three consecutive non-playoff seasons, including last year’s painfully bad 3-13 finish.

“I think we can be pretty dangerous,” Murray said.
