Jermiah Braswell was going to have a tough time making the Arizona Cardinals, and now he's made it even tougher on himself. According to Jordan Danaji of CBS Sports, Braswell was arrested after driving his car into Lake Erie.

The arrest took place on Saturday evening when the police received a call about a car in Lake Erie. Once the police arrived, they found Braswell, of the Cardinals, attempting to drive the vehicle despite it being in the water. The rookie wideout had driven his orange Camaro into Lake Erie and explained to police he had gotten stuck.

However, the police conducted a breathalyzer test and determined that Braswell was under the influence of alcohol. Thus explaining why Braswell's speech was reportedly slurred when he was speaking to the authorities.

Earlier this offseason, after going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, Braswell signed an NFL contract with the Cardinals. Before entering the NFL, Braswell spent four seasons at Youngstown State. That would explain why Braswell was found driving in the Ohio area.

Altogether, in his four collegiate seasons, Braswell combined for 51 receptions, 986 yards, and 11 touchdowns. He would cap his final season at Youngstown State with an impressive 24 catches for 515 yards and seven touchdowns. The Cardinals hoped to gain value from Braswell this season.

Seeing that he went undrafted, Braswell was going to be competing for a roster spot in Arizona. But with his recent arrest, it remains to be seen if he receives any discipline from the Cardinals organization. Arizona will likely gather more information before they make a final decision on the undrafted rookie.
