Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Josh Rosen has wasted no time in getting acquainted with his new teammates after being taken with the 10th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. It appears that approach has carried over into practice.

The first days of practice are always tough for a rookie quarterback as they get adjusted to the next level. Fortunately, right guard Justin Pugh says he made a solid first impression with his teammates thanks to his command in the huddle, according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss:

He was good,” right guard Justin Pugh said. “I was surprised at how well he did with the limited amount of time that he's spent here so far.

“The first thing I told him was, ‘Take command of the huddle. This is your huddle.' He did a good job. I was impressed with what he did today.”

Left tackle D.J. Humphries doubled down on Pugh's comments about Rosen's command in the huddle.

“He stepped in the huddle and had a lot of pizzazz,” left tackle D.J. Humphries said. “He didn't seem like he was choked up at all. Voice didn't crack none. He wasn't talking low. He was excited. He was asserting himself into the huddle, and I was pretty excited to see that.”

Needless to say, it is certainly encouraging to see that Rosen is getting comfortable with his new team so quickly. In fact, one of the biggest knocks on him throughout the draft process was whether or not he would be likable to his teammates. Fortunately, it is clear that this is not an issue thus far.

With quarterback Sam Bradford still recovering from injury, Rosen will have the benefit of taking first-team reps for the time being. This will not only get him used to calling plays with the starters, but it will also give him an opportunity to get some of the more advanced terminologies down. While he is not expected to start right away, that likely will not deter Rosen from playing the part this offseason.
