The St. Louis Cardinals have been enjoyed every last second of future Hall of Fame catcher Yadier Molina. Well, it appears they will be able to enjoy him for a little longer. According to Katie Woo of The Athletic, the Cardinals are signing Molina to a one-year extension worth $10 million.

It's only right, and the longtime Cardinals backstop will play at least one more season after manning the position since 2004, which is purely incredible. In 2021, he is batting .259 with eight home runs and 51 RBIs and has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence for the Cardinals.

He signed a one-year deal back in February and now does so again as the Cardinals never wavered in wanting to bring him back on board. He can still produce, and until he slows down, there is no need to move on from him.

The Cardinals as a team are already thinking about next season, evidently. They sit 12 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers for the top spot in the National League Central and are nearly five games behind the Cincinnati Reds, who are currently flip-flopping with the San Diego Padres for the final Wild Card spot.

Either way, getting Molina for one more year is huge for the Cardinals.
