The search for the next head coach of the Arizona Cardinals has begun.

With Bruce Arians stepping down as head coach following Sunday’s 26-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks, the Cardinals immediately went to work trying to find his successor. They have already sent overtures to possible replacements for Arians, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Both Jim Schwartz and Matt Patricia won’t likely entertain fully those request as of the moment with their respective teams still in contention to win the Super Bowl. The Eagles have a first-round bye and will be waiting in the divisional round the winner of the Wild Card matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams. The New England Patriots, on the other hand, have are also left sharpening their swords as they prepare to face the winner of the wild card showdown involving the Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Aside from Schwartz and Patricia, the Cardinals have also sent feelers to Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and John DeFilippo, who currently serves as the Eagles’ quarterback coach, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Whoever gets the head coaching job in Arizona will have plenty of work to do, as the Cardinals finished the 2017 season with an 8-8 record a year after they went 7-8-1.
