Rookie linebacker Zaven Collins hasn't played a single professional snap of football, but he's already poised to earn a legion of die-hard, lifelong fans in the state of Arizona. With the 16th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals took the unanimous All-American, and if the front office's call to him is anything to go by, the youngster is more than excited to join the team.

Immediately after GM Steve Kein announced himself over the phone, cheers and screaming could be heard through the phone. When asked about how he felt joining the Cardinals, Collins responded with a rather NSFW message.

“Steve, we’re gonna f–king kill everyone…We’re gonna get a Super Bowl ring so f–king big on our finger that show dogs wouldn’t be able to jump over it,” Collins said, per the team site.

Kein then passed the phone to Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who congratulated the rookie and jokingly said that there's no redshirting in the NFL. Collins' response?

“There’s no f–king redshirt,” Collins added. “We’re gonna go in and we’re gonna kill it.”

Zaven Collins had an illustrious career in Tulsa, which came to a head in his 2020 junior season. Despite being selected after fellow LB Micah Parsons (opted out of 2020) and cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Patrick Surtain II, Collins was recognized as the best defensive player in college football in 2020, earning both the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Chuck Bednarik Award. He now joins a sneakily good defense, headlined by JJ Watt, Zach Allen, Chandler Jones, Isaiah Simmons, Budda Baker and Malcolm Butler.

With Collins, the Cardinals add yet another scary piece to their growing defensive core, and they are starting to look like one of the better and more balanced teams in the NFL. Good luck trying to score on them.
