The NHL is going to have a new team seeing action on the ice, beginning in the 2021 season. That's the Seattle Kraken, whose logo you may or may not find cool but hockey fans will surely keep a close eye on in the offseason, especially during the NHL expansion draft.  Starting on Wednesday, July 21s, the Kraken will get to choose players exposed by current clubs to the draft. The list of these players includes the likes of Carey Price, Vladimir Tarasenko, Gabriel Landeskog among other intriguing names, per Ryan S. Clark of The Athletic:

BREAKING: Carey Price, Vladimir Tarasenko, Gabriel Landeskog, Ryan Johansen, Mark Giordano, Jonathan Drouin, Yanni Gourde, Tyler Johnson, Jason Zucker, Jared McCann and Kaapo Kahkonen are among those players who have been exposed ahead of the expansion draft. #SeaKraken

Carey Price's availability is indeed intriguing, if not surprising. He just put up a heroic stand in the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs where he helped the Montreal Canadiens reach the Stanley Cup Finals. But the Habs are also seemingly looking to rid themselves of his contract that has an AAV of $10.5 million until the end of the 2025-26 NHL season. Meanwhile, Vladimir Tarasenko and the St. Louis Blues appear to be not seeing eye to eye right now and could benefit from a change of scenery. As for Gabriel Landeskog, he is currently an unrestricted free agent and the Colorado Avalanche might not be too interested in giving him the new contract he's been looking for.

It should get interesting soon for the Seattle Kraken in the NHL expansion draft.
