It was a special night for Carmelo Anthony, who helped lead the the U.S. Men's Olympic basketball team in another blowout win, defeating Venezuela 113-69.

In the process of winning its second straight game in the Olympic tournament, Anthony celebrated a victory within a victory Monday night.

After sinking a baseline three-pointer in the second quarter, Anthony advanced past Michael Jordan as the USA Basketball's third all-time leading scorer.

Anthony who now has 262 points overall won't be in that position long, because he needs just 11 more points to pass LeBron James, and will then become the all-time leading scorer for USA Men's Basketball.

The U.S. faces off against Australia on Wednesday night, and that will be the game you will certainly see Anthony aggressive right from the beginning, so it would be no surprise if we see his teammates push to make sure he gets the scoring record early in the game.

Should Team USA win the gold in Rio, Anthony will be the first American basketball player to have won three consecutive gold medals, and will carry the bragging rights amongst his peers.
