The New York Knicks are in the midst of a tough stretch and have lost 10 of their last 13 games which dropped their record to 17-20 for the season. Given their current situation, they'll need everyone from the team to step up and contribute to their cause.

However, their All-Star forward, Carmelo Anthony, recently revealed that he has been dealing with a shoulder injury and has been playing through pain since their game last December 11 against the Los Angeles Lakers where he suffered a bone bruise while diving for a loose ball.

“It’s bad, You know what it is, it’s an adjustment that you have to make on the fly. Like some days it feels good, some days it’s tight. Throughout the course of the game, certain shots, certain moves, you feel like the strength isn’t there. So it’s just a matter of figuring out how to play through it. What’s working? What’s not?”

“It feels good during the game. And then you irritate it. And then you kind of have to work backwards again to get it back stronger. But I’m constant around-the-clock treatment.”

Anthony also discussed what he feels is needed for his shoulder to heal faster but made it clear that he plans to continue playing and that he and the coaching staff have not talked about giving him additional rest especially on the second game of back-to-back sets.

“Not yet. Not yet. Especially now when we’re in the grind and in the thick of things and we kind of have a chance to get back above .500. And we have some teams that we feel that are some winnable games. So that decision is. … they’re going to have to tell me to take a couple off. Cause I’m not doing it.”

Despite the injury, his desire to compete and help the team can be considered good news by the New York faithful as Anthony understands the importance of January sine it's the month they play the most number of games this season with 17 scheduled. Should the 32-year-old small forward be able to somehow produce decent numbers even with pain in his shoulder, it will give the Knicks a huge chance to regain lost ground.
