New York Knicks star forward Carmelo Anthony opened up about his cryptic Instagram post and confirmed indeed it was about team president Phil Jackson, in light of the comments he made earlier in the week of his lack of ball movement.

“At the end of the day we're playing good basketball,” Anthony told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News prior to Friday’s game against the Kings. “That's the only thing that matters at this point. So any negativity that's coming towards me or towards the team, I don't think we need it at this point.”

The Knicks have won five of their last six games and with a 13-10 record, they've seen better offensive chemistry, which has resulted in a more efficient scoring output.

“I just don’t know what was behind the comments or where the comments came from,” Anthony added. “I just want to continue doing what we’re doing, playing ball. I feel like we’re playing some good basketball, and just to kind of have a temporary black cloud over our heads after – I didn’t know when the comments (were) made, or what was made, or the gist of the conversation…I just know that something was said.”

Anthony is right on the money, as Jackson's comments are a bit of a head-scratcher because of the odd timing. The nine-time All-Star has put up two 30-point games in the Knicks last three games, each of them translating into wins for the team.

“I just feel if it was something he wanted to address, or he had his stance (on) something, the door has always been kind of open both ways and he’s always sent me a text or talked to me,” Anthony said. “If it wasn’t any type of problem or anything that was going on, I always welcome his conversation with open arms. I sat there. We listened. If it was something good he wanted to talk about, we talked about it. If it was something we felt we could (do) better, I could do better, we talked about that. There’s always been good conversation with each other, so I don’t really know what’s going on.”
