While he had his fair share of detractors, Carson Wentz also had many believers coming into the NFL as the second overall pick of the Eagles. Still, nobody thought he'd be tearing up the league this quickly.

Through his first three weeks as a professional starting quarterback, Wentz has shined with a level of play usually reserved for veterans. The Eagles are 3-0 under his lead, with Wentz passing for 769 yards and five touchdowns. He has thrown no interceptions, and he boasts a 103.8 passer rating.

In particular, he stood out against the Steelers last week, finishing with a 74.2 completion percentage, 301 yards passing, and a 125.9 passer rating.

For his efforts, Wentz has been named the Offensive Rookie of the Month for September. He is the first Philadelphia Eagles player to take home the award.

There's still 13 games to go in 2016 and many more seasons in Carson Wentz's career, but he's off to a great start and has Eagles fans brimming with optimism.
