Michigan State Spartans star Cassius Winston is one of the very best players in all of college basketball. The team he plays for is pegged as the best team in the country.

Both are preseason projects so widely talked about that it's become accepted as fact. However, according to Winston, the Spartans still need to go out and prove their worth.

“Now you have to go out and prove why you’re ranked No. 1,” All-America guard Cassius Winston said about the preseason talk.

The AP Poll has the Michigan State Spartans ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation. CBS Sports has Cassius Winston slotted as the very best player in the entire sport. It's a lot of expectations to place on a single team. Given the program is led by Tom Izzo, don't be tickled shocked if Michigan State is able to live up to the aforementioned preseason hype.

With the 2019-20 college basketball season less than two weeks away from tipping, we'll obviously begin to get a better handle on who is what then.
