Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond, partnered with a local Ohio restaurant Thursday afternoon, to provide free turkeys to families in need for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Originally drafted by the Pistons in the 2012 NBA Draft, Andre Drummond was acquired by the Cavaliers in February, in a trade that served primarily as a salary dump for the beleaguered Detroit club. Following his announcement last week, that he would exercise his option for the 2020-2021 NBA seasonā€“in which he will make a reportedly salary fo $28 millionā€“the 27-year old center, will be in the final season, of the five-year deal he signed back in 2016.

Though he and Cleveland have engaged in talks about a potential contract extension, the two sides have been unable to reach an agreement, leading many to speculate that Andre Drummond could be a candidate to be dealt during this season's trade deadline. Despite having been unable to regain the form that earned him an All-NBA selection earlier in the decade, the interior presence he provides, as well as the fact that he will be operating on an expiring contract, may make him an attractive option for a contending team.

The charity drive Andre Drummond and ā€œThe Boiler 65ā€ restaurant spearheaded Thanksgiving day, was the second of the week, according Kierra Cotton of WKYC, a local Ohio News Outlet.

While the center has struggled to maintain consistent production during games, his off-the-court charity work has continued unabated. Awarded in 2016, the NBA's Community Assist Award by Kaiser Permante, Andre Drummond was recognized for his activity in the community, including working with the Boys and Girls Club of Auburn Hills, and organizations serving children with special needs.
