With LeBron James signing with the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason and a year after trading their ace point guard Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers fans await who will take on the alpha role in Northeast Ohio. Their eyes are on 2018's eighth overall draft pick Collin Sexton, who will be wearing jersey No.2 for the Cavs this season.

Many can't help but compare him to Irving, who hit the go-ahead jumper in the Game 7 of the  2016 Finals to give the city its first championship.

In spite of the burden put on his shoulders, Sexton believes he's not out to follow anyone's footsteps, via Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor.

“I'm not following in nobody's footsteps. I'm going to come in and play my style of game,” Sexton said when asked about wearing Irving's old digit. “Kyrie did wear No. 2. Mo Williams did wear No. 2 also.”

The former Crimson Tide was known for his performance in their game against Minnesota Golden Gophers in November last year. With just three players left in the game for Alabama, after bench ejections and injuries, Sexton, together with his two teammates left on the court, still gave Minnesota a fight despite the disadvantage. Young Bull scored 40 points and almost led his team to win that memorable game.

Seeing his competitiveness, fighting against all odds and his clutch play in the preseason, Cavs fans are surely excited to see what he could bring to the team just as what a former Cleveland star wearing jersey No.2 did for them a couple of years back.
