DeAndre Jordan is widely perceived as the next piece that the L.A. Clippers are looking to move and there may be a chance that he could play for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Clippers center is reportedly interested in playing for the Cavs who are in dire need of his services.

A deal with the Clippers for Jordan would give the Cavs their much-coveted shot-blocking, rebounding force that the team is sorely lacking.

Fox Sports Skip Bayless reports that Jordan is willing to go to the Cavs to play with LeBron James.

“A source told Undisputed today that the Cavs are interested in trading for DeAndre Jordan and that he would be interested in joining LeBron's team. But that wouldn't help the Cavs much vs Golden State.”

For the Cavs to have a shot at acquiring the services of the former All-Star, the team will have to give up more than just players on their roster as the Clippers are looking for draft picks aside from young talent.

In order to facilitate a trade, Cleveland may need to find a third team for the Clippers to get the pieces that they want. At the same time, the Cavs will have to give in to Jordan’s demands as a free agent this summer.

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer:

“One of the hurdles in any deal for Jordan is that he can become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Though Jordan and his new agent, Jeff Schwartz, will seek a max contract worth more than $30 million annually, there’s a possibility that he’ll end up opting into his $24.1 million contract for 2018-19. There are so few teams with max contract space available this summer, and a 30-year-old center who can’t shoot isn’t the type of player that teams will clear the books for.”

Though Jordan would appear to be an ideal fit for the Cavs, it remains to be seen what type of deal they can bring to the table both with the Clippers and with the player himself.
