The Boston Celtics orchestrated quite a historic 3-point shooting performance in the fourth quarter of their NBA Finals Game 1 win over the Golden State Warriors. From Draymond Green’s standpoint, he was not necessarily too concerned with Boston's stout finish to the contest.

Speaking after the Warriors’ home defeat to the Celtics, Green essentially downplayed the shooting showings from the likes of Derrick White and Marcus Smart, as he noted that his team will be “fine” moving forward.

“They hit 21 threes, and Marcus Smart and Al Horford and Derrick White combined for 15 of them,” Green said. “The guys are good shooters, but they combined for, what, 15-for-23 from those guys, eh, you know, so, we’ll be fine.”

Ahead of Game 2 of the NBA Finals, White was asked about Green’s take on this matter. Instead of engaging in a back-and-forth with the four-time All-Star, White noted that the Celtics will need to have the “right mindset” heading into the crucial second game of the series.

“I mean, we knew what their game plan was going in, so it’s just up to us to make shots,” White said. “I mean, it is what it is.

“He said what he said. Just going into Game 2, just have the right mindset and whatever it takes to help us win games.”

White, who knocked down five 3-point shots in the 120-108 victory, was far from being the only Celtics player who rose to the occasion for the team in Game 1. For one, Celtics guard Payton Pritchard also played an instrumental role in the fourth quarter rally, chipping in with five points and four rebounds.

As with White, Pritchard is not paying much attention to Green’s comments about the Celtics’ formidable shooting performance in Game 1.

“I'm not really listening to all that,” Pritchard said. “I don't think any of us are. We're all NBA players at the end of the day, so we're all capable of getting hot and making shots.

“I've seen those guys, D White and Al, put in the work, so I know what they're capable of.”

For now, the Celtics have their sights set on opening up a 2-0 series lead over the Warriors on Sunday.
