Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum might have just had the most exciting win in Skills Challenge history. The second-year man hit a desperation half-court shot to beat Trae Young in the final round.

During the post-tournament interview, Tatum called for Taco Bell (who sponsors the challenge) to set up a deal with him.

Not going to lie, “Taco Jay” is a nickname I completely forgot about. It's easy to forget about a silly nickname when Tatum is playing the way he is. There's so much more to focus on when a 20-year-old is consistently looking dominant in the NBA. Winning a Taco Bell sponsored challenge will throw that right back into the mainstream though.

First off, everyone loves Taco Bell and everyone loves tacos. I'm pretty sure that's a law in some states even. Having a massive up-and-coming name like Jayson Tatum as a sponsor for the company definitely couldn't hurt though.

Taco Bell is doing just fine without him, but having a recognizable face to give your advertisements that extra push would only serve to help the company.

We're living in a world where players get themselves deals more-and-more often. Marshawn Lynch was the poster boy for this with Skittles. Fellow running backs Todd Gurley (Jolly Ranchers) and Alvin Kamara (AirHeads) have added to the NFL running back/candy pair-up ranks.

Now it's time for the NBA to throw themselves into the self-marketing mix. Tatum could also buck the trend of candy and start a roll on fast-food too.

The Taco Bell Skills Challenge only served to reminded everyone just how good Jayson Tatum is and how good he can become. It's also shown us that he has a self-marketing side.

While the comments were initially a joke, don't be surprised if they turn into a very real deal. This is something both Tatum and Taco Bell could use to their advantage.
