Al Horford is making his way back to the Boston Celtics. Two years after parting ways with the team, the five-time All-Star is now set for an emotional return to Beantown in a trade deal that sent Kemba Walker to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Horford recently shared his honest thoughts on the trade as he revealed the biggest regret he still holds with the Celtics:

“Five years ago when I had to make a tough decision and leave Atlanta, Danny [Ainge] and Brad, they sold me on this — the culture, what we're trying to build in Boston, and winning, getting that banner 18,” Horford said, via Joel Pavon of Causeway Street. “And that's something that really excited me, really motivated me. And it was something that we were working towards.

“Obviously I wasn't able to get it done when I was with the group. And now that this time has passed and I get an opportunity again to do that, for me it's looking at what kind of purpose, what can I do, what can I do to accomplish that. And I’m lucky enough to get a second shot to be with this group.”

Could Al Horford be the missing piece to Boston's puzzle? As he explained above, they weren't able to reach their goals during his first stint with the Celtics, but as we all know, times have changed. For one, Jayson Tatum has blossomed into a true superstar. Right now, the Celtics appear to be in a better position to contend for the title than they were a few years back.

The Celtics' first-round exit in the playoffs this season was definitely a huge knock, but it is clear that Boston remains steadfast in its objective to win that elusive championship. Al Horford certainly seems to think so, and he's going to do everything in his power to make this dream a reality.
