Celtics fans boo team after big deficit in 2nd quarter vs. Knicks

Kyrie Irving, Celtics

Who is unhappy right now? The Bostons Celtics fans are.

A chorus of boos came from the Boston crowd in the midpoint of the second quarter. The visiting New York Knicks simply dominated the home team.

The Celtics’ deficit increased to 16 points, 40-24 with 7:50 to go that prompted head coach Brad Stevens to call a timeout.

In a video posted by Jayson Tatum of Reddit.com, Boston fans were clearly unhappy of their team’s performance.

The Celtics were expected to be one of the teams to beat in the East since LeBron departed. But their performance right now isn’t that impressive.

They currently are in eighth place in the East with a 9-9 record. Losing to a subpar team like the Knicks isn’t helping boost their confidence either.

Boston’s defense was nowhere to be found in the first half. They allowed 65 points while their offense could not match their opponent’s tempo.

The performance was great for a 5-14 Knicks team that has missed the playoffs in the past five years. Winning at their division rivals Celtics’ expense was awesome.

The Celtics are currently 3-7 in their last 10 tries, and they’re hoping to turn things around in their upcoming tasks.

They head to the road next week, as they’ll take on the Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks, and New Orleans Pelicans. They will be back at home on the first of December against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
